GROUP SHOTS DON’T HAVE TO BE A DRAG! HERE’S HOW I MAKE THEM FUN AND STRESS-FREE

When I chat with couples for the first time about their wedding day, one concern that comes up a lot is the dreaded group shots. And it’s no wonder—most of us have been to weddings where the group photos went on for ages. They dragged on for what felt like forever, interrupted the flow of the day, and left everyone feeling a bit bored and worn out. It doesn’t have to be that way! 🎉💃🏻❤️😜

WHY DO GROUP SHOTS Generate eye rolls?

No one looks forward to standing around for long periods while endless combinations of family and friends are arranged for photos. It can squash the energy of your day and, before you know it, you’re missing out on precious moments with your guests. That’s not what anyone wants.

Yet, group shots are important. They capture those core family members and friends who are sharing your special day with you. These are the photos you’ll look back on, the ones your parents and grandparents might frame, and the ones that will find their way into family albums for years to come. The key is making sure that the group shots are efficient, enjoyable, and filled with real moments.

HOW I MAKE GROUP SHOTS FUN, FAST, AND FULL OF LIFE

When you book me, the experience of capturing group shots is nothing like those tedious, drawn-out sessions you may have seen at other weddings. I’ve designed my approach to keep things short and sweet—because, honestly, you should be spending more time celebrating and less time posing. Here’s how I do it:

We Plan Ahead

Before your wedding day, I’ll send you a quick questionnaire where you can list any must-have group shots. This means we have a clear game plan going into the day, so there’s no need to wrangle people together at the last minute or try to remember who needs to be in which photo. We’ll know exactly what you want, and I’ll take care of the rest. I'll print out a few copies of your group shots and will find myself a few helpers on the day, a groomsman who knows most of those involved, or a bridesmaid with a big mouth and voice 😘🤣🎉

  • We'll keep the number of groups to a minimum, I tend to arrange about 6 or 7 on the day,

  • As I'm shooting a group shot, a helper on the day can be rounding up others for the next.

  • We'll get the standard "everyone look at me" and then we'll have a few laughs, so you'll get a straight version and another one filled with belly laughs and great expressions.

  • The process is short and sweet and should take no longer than 15 minutes.

Memorable Moments, Not Just Photos

In the end, your group shots will be more than just pictures of people standing in a line—they’ll be memories in the making. The fun, lighthearted vibe we create during the session will shine through in the final images, giving you something you’ll actually want to look back on. They’ll capture your family and friends as they really are—happy, relaxed, and enjoying every moment with you.

So, if you’re worried that the group shots will drag on your wedding day, don't worry! I’ve got you covered. With my approach, we’ll get the photos you need without slowing down the day—and we’ll have some fun along the way.
